A sunrise on the Outer Banks
A sunrise on OBX is something you will never forget. The artwork on The Fine Art Place includes lots of unique paintings and original photos of sunrises and sunsets and everything in between.
The painting you see above was from Ocracoke Island which is part of the Outer Banks of North Carolina. The beaches there are pristine. But the good thing about Ocracoke island is the lack of people. You cannot drive there. To get there you must take a ferry. That is why there are always less people to contend with. And to get there to see a sunrise means you need to take an early ferry, if not the first ferry in the morning.
Creating Beautiful unique art often takes hard work
To create this painting I had to take the first ferry from Hatteras. That means getting on the ferry before the sun has risen. And, of course, getting out of bed before that. Once the ferry landed on Ocracoke Island, I drove a bit down Highway 12 to this location. I unloaded the tripod, cameras, lenses and other gear and hiked across the beach and over the sand dunes. Once at location, I had to wait for the sun to rise. When the sunrise finally occurred, the fine art photo was taken. But the work did not end there. The photo had to be used, and a painting was created from it.
